As we've discussed a little in email, I knew Scott in college and he was also my boss at my first real job in Manhattan (that was before he went to CTW). I went down and visited him early on after he moved to Arizona, and it was fun to see him assume the role of Papa Scott with his stepdaughter. We more or less fell out of touch after that, unfortunately.
I remember thinking it sounded like a good move when he went back to Chicago and went to work for IMSA, and it's good to hear that he was happy there.
His loyalty to his friends, and his commitment to his principles, were at the highest level I can imagine. For some reason, right now I'm remembering when we were in college and he was a member of the film society, and there were many nights when he was the projectionist and I would bring us some dinner and hang out, chat, and play Magic: The Gathering.
